Nearly a year after The First Descendant debuted, it’s now gearing up for its third season, and thanks to Summer Game Fest, we have an official date. Titled Breakthrough, this new content update now has a release date of August 7, bringing “large-scale new content and structural expansion of the game.”
Alongside the newly-premiered trailer, it seems there’s already an update blog outlining some of the details. They’ll be leading the release with a Focus Group Test for Korean and North American players; after this, there’ll be an open demo from July 24th to let players try out some of the core content.
There’ll also be a Dev Livestream next week, on June 12, to give a roadmap of what’s to come with Breakthrough.
The third season for content for the co-op shooter was previously delayed due to poor reception of the second one. Since then, it was previewed last month, leading its teasers with a Nier: Automata collaboration and explaining that more IP collaborations are on the way.
The date announcement also comes with a new trailer to show off some assets.
