Soulframe Preludes 10 is Live, With a Haunted Dungeon, New Armor Sets, Enemies, Sidearms & More

Soulframe Preludes 10 is here, with a new haunted dungeon, new enemies, new weapons, including the first Sidearms, new Faction Tales, and more.

In the Crypt of the Circade dungeon, find three fractured souls The Circade, a tragic noble. Recover fragments of his totem and reforge the Triune Talisman for a reward and a darker gift. “Those who wear the Totem may find themselves hunted at dawn, dusk, and darkest night.”
There’s a new armor set: The Circade. Another new set, The Mendicant King, drops from this new enemy, who offers a new challenge from his corrupted throne. He said to not fight alone and “those struck by his gaze may find themselves bound to his will”.
Each of these visually distinct sets offer their own traits.
Armor gets some improvements, with helms, cuirass, and leggings now all offering defensive stats that are tied to physical, magical and stability core damage types. Pieces contribute to your overall defense. The rarer the armor set, the more defensive stats they will offer. You can check the numbers anytime via a new onscreen display.
The new Sidearm weapon slot expands build options when you equip a second weapon. There are also a couple of new Sidearm weapons, with fragments for them set to drop from Ode Casters and Ranged Hunters.
Two of the starter weapons have also gotten a few changes and drop as rewards from Faction Tales. Faction Tales have been expanded, offering new encounters, as well as a choice of path length – single task, short path, or long path, each with scaling difficulty, rewards, and XP.
The full patch notes offer a look into all of the changes and new features, including balance tweaks and fixes.
One thing that did not make it into this update is the Rune and Mote system previewed in the last Devstream. Digital Extremes needs more time to make the system “grow into what we envision”.
