New World: Aeternum Gets a New Leadership Team, Previews Improvements and S8 Hardcore Seasonal World

New World: Aeternum has a new leadership team, as revealed in a Forged in Aeternum community Q&A, which also talks future development and improvements in response to feedback. The team is also previewing its new Hardcore Seasonal World opening next week.

The new game director is Katy Kaszynski, taking over from Scot Lane, who is now in another role at Amazon Games. Joining her in the Q&A are new creative director Dan Henuber, and Seasons/systems product owner, Joel Clift. In addition to revealing some of the stuff they’re currently working on, they talk about some things that they’re currently exploring beyond that.
After getting questions about obtaining craft mods and perk items, plans are in the works to improve these systems sometime over the next couple of seasons. So in-game rewards will get some overhauls to preserve the chase but to  open up opportunities to let players get something for that chase and be able to experiment with their builds and loadouts.

Their focus is on day-to-day gameplay and endgame to  solidify the foundation and then add more things on top of that. The main story quest has gotten a series of overhauls to improve cohesion and to be structured better and more engaging.
They’re working on a series of quality of life improvements, including the frequently requested way to save gear sets and attributes. You can check out the full video for more details.
Season 8 is here, however, and with it, the Hardcore Seasonal World opening on June 3rd. The fast progression server allows you one shot to get max rewards. If you want to chance at the Set 3 Journey rewards, you’ll have to never die (or delete and restart the entire adventure if you do).
If you’re Fallen, however, you can’t claim the best rewards but you can still get some good stuff. There are even attribute bonuses if you simply want to keep going.  The full list of rewards and how to earn them is in the announcement. The Seasonal World will close on July 8th.
