Season of the Divide, New World: Aeternum Season 8, is coming tomorrow, and the Amazon team has released full patch notes as well as upcoming preview sessions for the new capture the flag mode.
After an estimated two hours of downtime starting tomorrow at 5:00 a.m. PDT, Season 8 will begin. The Coral Divide Outpost Rush map goes live along with tweaks to OPR and the new Barebones mode. Of note, PvP modes will be moving to an hourly rotation schedule instead of every two weeks. PvPers can also take advantage of new PvP camps.
The special ruleset seasonal server, Hardcore, offers a chance at incredible rewards and fast progression, with the best rewards only available as long as you don’t die. If you do, however, there will still be lots of goodies to earn.
Of course with a new season means new free and premium seasonal reward tracks. There are also new Artifacts to claim to expand your build options.
New features include Expeditions Unleashed: World bosses that come straight out of Expeditions, on a weekly rotation schedule. The long-awaited barbershop feature also arrives,
Capture the Flag is a new PvP mode on the way this season, and the team needs some help to refine the mode. It’s classic CTF, with maps that the team designed for speed, squeezes, and quick takedowns. There are jump pads and power ups along the way and no default base defenses. For now, loot won’t be exclusive, but next season, some could be.
The first Capture the Flag preview weekend will take place on May 16th and it will end on Monday, May 19th. As with Coral Divide, expect multiple preview weekends before the mode is ready for permanent release.
