The latest update for Star Trek Online, titled “Heart of the Matter,” brings a bit of new content for players, plus an update to the daily Endeavor system and a new spaceship to pick up.
Those who log in regularly likely engage with the Endeavor system, which offers player-based and server-wide tasks every day and rewards players with account-wide perks. As part of this patch, as a previous blog has outlined, Endeavor rank caps go up from 750 to 1250 and bring entirely new perks with it.
This patch’s new content includes the new “mini-episode” called “All That Matter;” per the title, these types of missions are meant to be a little shorter than standard ones. Plus, a new Task Force Operation was added, and this one’s a five-Captain ground operation.
The namesake event, “Heart of the Matter,” asks players to play these new missions in order to earn the Kida’s Boon Set, which includes self-healing Drain effects, the Promise Universal Console for increases to Subsystem Levels, a no-cost Control Antiproton Beam Array, and more.
And for those who like a classic but elegant ship, the Promellian Command Battlecruiser arrives as a T6 ultra-rare drop in the Infinity Lock Box, which are dropped in-game or bought with premium currency. Originally featured in The Next Generation, the Star Trek Online team explains in the announcement post that the megaship is designed to reflect the ship and era’s tough and powerful legacy, also bringing in enemies through Gravitic Inversions.
