Jagex has officially revealed its open-world survival game, RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Coming to Early Access this spring, it’s a co-op survival adventure made in Unreal Engine 5.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is set on the continent of Ashenfall, a place we’ve never been to before. The dragons have awoken. So, you’ll have to gather resources, build, and learn how to craft and skill up to survive. Potentially, eventually setting out to slay the dragon queen.
So, whether solo or with up to three friends, you’ll get a chance to explore this never before seen continent, discover some ancient secrets, and even battle some familiar RuneScape creatures. The progression system will use Anima-based magic you can use to do things like summon spectral axes to chop down trees or even to repair armor.”Survival by Sorcery,” the Steam page reads.
Made by a dedicated team with industry veterans that are looking to blend the open world survival game experience in a way that fits naturally within the RuneScape franchise as a whole. They’ve already held alpha playtests, with community feedback helping shape the coming Early Access, which will provide more opportunities to shape ongoing development.
With the game set for Early Access release, the team is getting ready for a deep dive reveal Twitch stream on April 15th at 12pm EDT/ 17:00 BST.
