Dying Light’s Standalone Narrative-Focused Title Gets A Late August Release Date

At Summer Game Fest, the team behind Dying Light: The Beast, a new spin-off game from the popular online multiplayer apocalyptic parkour-action Dying Light series, announced a late August date for the title.
Dying Light: The Beast was originally slated to be its own story DLC as part of Dying Light, as explained by devs when it was announced back in August 2024. However, the scope grew large enough that it warranted its own full-fledged game instead, with the estimated length of The Beast at the time already being over 18 hours.

Thanks to the SGF new trailer, we now know Dying Light: The Beast will release on August 21, 2025.
The story of Dying Light: The Beast follows Kyle Crane, a man who’s technically infected and has now escaped the ghastly DNA splicing experiments of a mad scientist. Now, Crane struggles with his inner demons while he tries to save the human within by helping others.
This spin-off features a beautiful landscape in Castor Woods—and of course, traversal of it much like the original Dying Light titles. While it seems like it’s a story-focused game, the Steam page for the game also promises four-player co-op.
Pre-orders are open now on Steam, with a special edition that features some special weapons
