For a limited time, AFK Journey players can obtain unique units from the anime Fairy Tail through a special crossover event. The event will last until May 28, 2025, and during that period players can receive event rewards to receive a copy of Lucy Heartfilia entirely for free.

Unlike previous banners in AFK Journey both Lucy and Natsu Dragneel can only be obtained from a unique banner that requires players to use a specific kind of currency. Or use their stash of diamonds (or their wallets) to pull on the banner. On the AFK Journey reddit, players don’t seem too thrilled about this development.
Especially since once the event has ended, players will not be able to wishlist these characters or obtain them through the use of A-Level or S-Level Soulstones. Either way, these characters will be available to add to your roster for a limited time, and there’s no telling when or if the collaboration will return.
In March 2025, AFK Journey received an update to usher in the first anniversary of the mobile game. This included the addition of new units and a new side-story for players to engage with.
