Dune: Awakening’s Beta Players Only Covered A Quarter Of Its Primary Quest Area, According To Stats

How big is the upcoming survival MMORPG Dune: Awakening? Apparently too big to explore in a single weekend, according to a beta weekend stats post by the Funcom team.

Per the posted stats, players only got to explore 25% of the Hagga Basin area, which is the main area where PvE, and some light PvP, takes place. Yes, it was only over the course of four days or so—but given the actual Deep Desert is multitudes larger than the Hagga Basin, as the devs have mentioned, this means players have a heck of a long way to go to find everything.
There are other stats included with this post about the combat and gameplay players managed. Players got to zoom around in some of the 214,919 vehicles crafted—until they became one of the 107,959 consumed by Shai-Hulud (the sandworm).

Those who sided with the elusive Bene Gesserit, which Funcom previewed a few days ago, got to use the Voice on over 1,086,760 enemies, and in total, nearly 10 million Scavengers were killed. Plus, over 8.7 million liters of blood were harvested, 65,473 people withered (probably in part because they didn’t harvest enough blood), and 4,093 people tripped on the good stuff (that’s to say, had spice hallucinations).
Dune: Awakening officially launches June 10 after a small delay, with a five-day head start period for certain purchased editions. Meanwhile, there’s no sign there’ll be another Beta type of weekend yet.
