Throne and Liberty Addresses Fair Play Concerns, Exploits, and How Amazon Has Responded

In a new Tico Talks, Amazon  is addressing the topic of fair play in Throne and Liberty and how Amazon responds to cheaters.

Recently, some found a way to attack bosses in Dimensional Trials without taking damage and get rune chests from clearing higher tiers they didn’t earn. Others were running  macros or bots while AFK to max gains. In a real edge case, two now permabanned EU players even exploited a crafting bug, to get nine Ark Boss weapons. Those weapons were removed and every other weapon in the game was checked to make sure it was legitimately obtained.
Those are PvE examples. When it comes to PVP, Tico explains that they take their time to  work to ensure accuracy, to determine who cheated and who was just a legitimate player that might have gotten caught up and avoid penalizing the latter. They also “weigh how quickly we can implement fixes against the risks of deploying minimally tested hotfixes”, so it might seem like a fix might take a bit longer after reporting exploitable glitches.

Amazon has been issuing punishments for those who exploited. Dimensional Trial boss cheaters got reward eligibility revoked, accounts marked with the violation. Innocent players will get 600 rune chests as compensation to level things. The AFK botters got three days’ suspension, and won’t be eligible for season rewards.
In addition to the discussion on fair play and what Amazon is doing,  we get some detail on a few helpful updates. Starting tomorrow with the Loot Goblin Festival,  there will be several weekly events to help with Tier 2 progression. Finally, they’re actively working on reported performance issues and they are a priority over the next few months.
