Star Citizen’s 4.1 shifts back to the Stanton system, adding new threats, challenges, and a crisis after regen tech begins to fail, that will reverberate in many ways.
Consequences of needing to deal with this crisis will involve things like lobbying to loosen scientific restrictions on research, and what that might mean. A new sandbox activity, Align and Mine, sees you off to abandoned mining facilities on Daymar and Aberdeen, with the task of aligning dishes at facilities with orbital platforms in order to reactivate them.
Successfully fend off Ninetails scavengers and reactivate the dishes, you’ll gain access to orbital laser platforms and your next challenge. Travel to the platforms, battle more Ninetails, Valar, and other players who want the valuable mineable resources. In other words, a likely PvPvE free for all.
The 4.1 update will also add the very first non-human NPC, Wickelo. A Banu alien, he offers a new mission that will open up even more trade opportunities. This is only the beginning, as he’ll stick around and ask you for assistance in the future too.
There’s much more detail on all of this in the full Inside Star Citizen episode.
