Once Human’s Latest Update Brings Game File Size Down Significantly, While Lifting Players Up (Literally)

The latest major update for Once Human arrives tonight, and the developers have put out the patch notes—including a big optimization change that will relieve many players’ hard drives.
A massive addition to many servers is Starfall Inversion, which is the first season of the Visionary Wheel gameplay season system. For about half an hour at a time, players will be able to defy physics to grab loot during special “gravitational tide” events, with shifted gravity to allow players (and their vehicles) to jump around in a low-grav mode. There are even item mods to help players navigate the space better.

The Starfall Inversion will be on servers marked with the Visionary Wheel tag; the devs have shared much of the details in a prior blog.
The biggest change players may not actually notice is the game file size. Thanks to game optimizations that were discussed in prior blogs, there’ll be a significant drop in the actual size of Once Human’s game files.
“We’ve also optimized the PC client’s disk usage,” as the update leads with. “After installing the full update (approximately 73 GB, actual size may vary), the game will take up about 18–20 GB less space while delivering improved performance.”
Plus, they’re launching Early Access for two new game modes: a new PvE Map and a new PvP map, which the devs explained in a separate blog as a “hardcore” mode.
The patch also brings the usual slew of updates, additions and changes, which are listed on the official blog.
