When Starry Studio asked Once Human players they’d look at all the feedback they could muster, apparently they weren’t kidding. The latest devblog gives some transparency about which highly-requested player suggestions have been actually implemented into the post-apocalyptic survival shooter MMO—and which ones they’re looking to add in the future.
The blog post has two categories of player suggestions that they recognize, one for the past (and very soon) and one for future changes, as well as a little star system indicating suggestion popularity. In the “Completed Optimization” section are updates such as gender changes, hiding the Cradle, letting player invites override server sizes to join friends, and more.
The “Optimizations In Progress” list, on the other hand, is a little more pragmatic. This section really does try to address a ton of player suggestions and concerns, but some are met by devs with explanations about the game’s performance and capacity.
For instance, they’re hard-pressed to increase territory construction limits, and first-person gameplay is likely impossible for now. However, they seem to be doing their damndest to allow moving buildings, make Scenarios more bearable to replay, and, as always, optimize the game (they talked about optimizing lighting a few days ago, for example).
Overall, the Completed list has 70 player-suggested changes, and the In Progress list has 30 upcoming changes. Do you see any that were already on your mind in the full list?
