The famous infinite space explorer No Man’s Sky hasn’t stopped expanding its own horizons either, and this time, that means an overhaul of one of its core systems. Yesterday’s update, titled “Beacon,” promises what the team calls “a complete overhaul of planetary settlements” that players can find across the universe.
Already, players could become the mayor of sorts of these settlements, letting you develop them with education, industry, safety and more. This update, first and foremost, lets players take over multiple settlements—if you’re willing to juggle the needs of multiple tiny civilizations. The update also brings more relaxed activities, more opportunities to be involved with new settlers and disputes, and more detail across the structures.
The game’s most recent race addition, Autophages will also have their own villages, which have their own nifty metallic style reminiscent of Star Wars. You can take this style, too, for your own base if you desire.
Plus, No Man’s Sky is getting some solid new updates across the board, according to the announcement. The graphics have been updated by way of Intel XeSS2, which the team says does “unbelievable” improvements to the game’s looks. This update also launches cross-save for everyone so you don’t have to jump between multiple save files on each platform and traverse the ‘verse for the same planet, plus other updates as outlined in the full patch notes.
