Fans patiently awaiting Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord’s upcoming expansion, War Sails, will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on it as the team has officially announced a delay via their social media. This will certainly put a damper on setting sail on the high seas as they expand their exploration from Calradia.
Originally slated for release on June 17th, TaleWorlds Entertainment recently announced a shift to an early Fall 2025 launch for their next big expansion of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. War Sails will unfortunately not release this summer, but luckily it seems the expansion has only be pushed a few short months.
In their statement, the developers explained that after evaluating the current state of the game, they concluded additional time was necessary to meet the expected quality standards. While a difficult pill to swallow for fans, this delay will be paramount for the team so that they can polish the game and implement further improvements to release the best version of the expansion they can.
TaleWorlds has also emphasized their transparency throughout this process, promising regular updates. This will including developer blogs, behind-the-scenes insights, and some updated gameplay to ensure players are more in tune with what to expect when the expansion launches in the fall. Currently the team has not given a specific release dat, but they anticipate that players should have one in just a few short weeks.
