In a developer stream, Bungie revealed Destiny 2’s next two expansions coming this year, The Edge of Fate and Renegades.
The Edge of Fate, according to the new promotional site, is the “first chapter of a new Destiny saga” that will release July 15, 2025. In the trailer, a mysterious invite comes from far, far away—both in space and time—so that our protagonists can uncover mysteries of the past and The Nine. We know that this expansion will bring a new planetoid and new abilities already.
Renegades is a little further out, coming this December, meaning details are more scarce, but it gives classic space Western vibes, especially given the name and desert setting.
Those looking to get both of these expansions can pick up a Year of Prophecy edition, and an Ultimate Edition also includes an instant unlock of even more Stars Wars-inspired armor ornament sets, which outright reference Darth Vader, Kylo Ren and a sadly two-handed Grievous.
Beyond this, there’ll be more expansions to come, with Shattered Cycle coming in Summer 2026 and The Alchemist in Winter 2026. Starting now as well is the Rite of the Nine, with three dungeons boasting a total of six modes.
