EverQuest Opens New Progression Server Fangbreaker, With Expanded Unlocks, Slower Release, and a Mix of Rules

Fangbreaker, EverQuest’s new ‘experimentl’ progression server, is here, and the Darkpaw Games team is detailing the rules, unlocks (expanded start!) and more to know.

The server is now available to All Access members. After the team initially announced  it in the April Producer’s Letter, the community has offered feedback that ultimately shaped the final rules.
The team says they’ve gotten requests for more content at the beginning of a new progression server. Fangbreaker has an expanded start, so there is more content available from the beginning, with Ruins of Kunark, Scars of Velious, and Shadows of Luclin unlocked. Future content releases will be slower, coming at extended intervals in an effort to maintain a healthier population for longer, as they note that as more  expansions unlock, progression server populations tend to drop.
So what do they mean by slower initial unlocks? The Outer Brood, EverQuest’s most recent expansion, will hit Fangbreaker on November 7th, 2030. The server FAQ has the full unlock schedule.
Other rules include encounter locking, Resource Hunter, offering daily random bonuses in zones around Norrath to encourage exploration, Legacy characters, and Restricted True Box.
