Elite Dangerous has unveiled its latest new early access ship, the Corsair, a multii-role customizable ship featuring size 7 thrusters for the first time.
The ship is now available for ARX in the shop, and Frontier even has a flashy new trailer to show it off. The Corsair standard and accompanying shipyard unlock are going for 16,520 ARX. You can buy 16,800 ARX in the shop for $12.99 / £9.59. Although you get 900 as a bonus on top of that, you’re looking at a $13 ship, give or take.
There are several options for customization, with paint jobs starting at 6,000 ARX in colors like purple, red, pink, and gray and 10,000 if you want to paint it gold or chrome. If you really want to go all out, there is the Corsair Stellar prebuilt option, which includes the ship, shipyard loadout, Corsair Imperial Argenteus paint job, the Javelin ship kit, and more.
Frontier started selling ships for real money last year, and has continued despite the backlash. In the comments for the Corsair trailer, response is somewhat positive, including comments about improvements, so we’ll see how the Corsair makes its mark.
