Fractured Online Shutting Down in June and Relaunching in Q1 2026

Fractured Online will shut down next month on June 15th to let new developer Happy Cauldron overhaul and relaunch the game sometime in Q1 2026.

The news comes after a series of updates where Duncan Davis, Happy Cauldron’s CEO and and Fractured Online game director, detailed many of their plans for the game, including a series of improvements and overhauls with sights on a relaunch. At the heart of why they bought the game and IP was rooted in belief in unrealized potential.
As of this announcement, all in-game purchases and transactions have been disabled and anyone who wants to can still play until June 15th.

Shutting the game down and relaunching will let them make the big changes that they need to make, starting with an old, outdated, and insecure backend. The changes are so big that existing character data will not transfer so everyone will have to start fresh. If you bought the game, you won’t need to rebuy it when it eventually l aunches on Steam. You’ll also keep Kickstarter rewards, VIP time, and tokens.
While Happy Cauldron is aiming for a Q1 2026 relaunch, there should be playtests around Q3 this year. This is keeping with the vow that the community will help shape Fractured Online’s relaunch.
