Lost Ark Team Update Shares ‘Experimental’ Content on the Way to Offer More Progression and Reward Paths

The Lost Ark has a new “team update” video. It is specifically not a roadmap update, but we do learn some of what’s to come, including experimental content, opening up new activities and reward paths.

The most recent player survey got a 26% higher response rate than the last, and they highlight three things: a desire for experimental content, for more challenging content for hardcore players, and lots of frustration over slow progression. Namely, a slow road for Tier 3, juxtaposed with high time and resource costs.
Amazon is collaborating with Smilegate on a number of systems. Later this year, a new system, Paradise, brings that experimental content to the West. Since the system is still being actively developed, some details may yet change.

Paradise, which is intentionally accessible to all player types, to offer a less grindy path, will add new reward paths and progression options, with seasonal content, weekly activities, and rewards.  Completing certain activities are the ways to earn rewards, similar to other games’ reward tracks.
Paradise  isn’t just the title of the system, it’s one of the activities. Take on waves of monsters to farm Legacy of Paradise gear pieces, aiming for the best grade and impact. As you get better gear pieces, you’ll get increased power within the paradise activities for the rest of the season,.
The other unveiled activities are God’s Testimony and Hell. God’s Testimony is a 1v1 boss fight where your power mostly comes from Legacy of Paradise gear. Support players will still be able to be viable. Expect increasingly difficult bosses throughout the season, and as you farm better gear, it’s a new challenge.
Hell  is a 100-floor tower challenge – clear as many floors as possible and descend down. Taking this challenge on will involve keys and at points you’ll be able to choose your reward, so it’s designed to be less RNG-dependent than the other two.
There’s more in the full video, with the intention being to offer more options to help everyone still progress with a decent pace with a manageable playtime balance.
