After a couple of delays, The Lord of the Rings Online’s new 64-bit server Sting will open up today. Standing Stone Games announced the server open and transfers schedule as as details on today’s new game update.
Today, Sting will open up to VIP members at 6:00 p.m Eastern, with immediate access for housing claims. The server opens to everyone else at 7:00 p.m. EDT. Character transfers off 32-bit and other US based 64-bit servers will start at 7:00 p.m. as well.
The team is tentatively set to begin a process of opening free transfers between 64-bit servers starting in early June. The process for this will be a rotating schedule and more info will be released soon.
The devs also finally announced a schedule for transfers from “Dark Worlds”. Those will go in batches and begin on May 28th.
Update 44.2 will also be released today. With it, Dun Shûma, the King’s Fortress, opens Tier 3 difficulty, running through May 26th. One of the issues that delayed Sting’s opening was an issue with Kinship housing storage and disappearing items. This issue has been fixed, so now the server is opening.
The 14th Legendary Items reward track offers new items like Legendary Coffer of the Heroes of the Dwarven Halls and Incomparable Coffer of the Jade Speckled Serpent. There’s also a seasonal loot box rotation and a number of fixes as well.
