Albion Online previews new instanced PvP dungeon type, The Depths, as well as hell-themed hub, The Antiquarian’s Den (and new PvP progression system) coming in the Abyssal Depths update.
This new dungeon features mobs, other players, as well as a new PVP rule set: Orange. There is an item power soft cap. Die and you’ll lose your inventory, but keep your equipped gear. The team wanted to make PVP more accessible, letting you also test your skills and still earn rewards without having to risk full loss.
The Depths features three levels, and inside you’ll find mobs, other players and of course, loot. Early on, you’ll fight mobs. Clear a room and you’ll get loot or buffs that persist for the rest of the dungeon. As you go along, there will be souls to collect and take to special altars:
Hostile Souls from fallen enemies
Neutral Souls from mobs or players who forfeited the dungeon
Friendly Souls from your fallen allies
Taking friendly ones to the Altar of Awakening revives those allies. Take hostile or neutral ones to the Altar of Greed for loot.
The final dungeon level features keys to collect and ultimately, a Treasure Vault, which is where you bring all those keys. Expect a fight over the spoils.
The Antiquaran’s Den is a new hub for hell-themed content you can access from any Royal City and Caerleon. From there you can find and form teams and head into The Depths, Hellgates, and Corrupted Dungeons. IIn each of those, there are ways to earn Antiquarian Standing, part of the new PvP progression system. There’s also a new hell-themed reward NP, the Antiquarian, offering items like two new spider mount babies, new crest, Avatar items, and more.
