Hunt: Showdown 1896 has announced its Desalle map is returning through a new Judgement of the Fool event, alongside new Hunters, new event perks, and more updates.
Crytek promises that not only is the map visually updated, but also has some new “gameplay refinements” that “add fresh layers of tactical depth,” with certain areas having “new paths, sightlines, and entry points perfect for flanking or last stands, new paths, sightlines, and entry points perfect for flanking or last stands.” The social team has been previewing the new map updates for a few weeks, so it’ll be good for players who liked the otherwise long-lived setting to get back into it.
The update comes with the new event Judgement of the Fool, which brings three new Hunters: The Pale Judge, a judge turned vigilante of sorts; The Fool, a scammer disfigured by his victims; and Dorothy Alice, the last survivor of a farm who hides The Fool. There’ll also be a new enemy running around called the Brute to look out for.
This event also brings some new mechanics, including the ability to trade “Pledge Marks” from fallen Hunters for Traits and Bounty Clash MMR for proper skill-based matchmaking.
With Update 2.4 that’ll bring this map revamp and event, the team also promises a ton of fixes across the board, from UI to AI and more. There’s no date to this all yet, but the team promises in this announcement post that there’ll be more to share on these changes.
