Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, Broken Ranks battles bad rolls with a new Ragebar, Defiance gets a new teaser trailer, and Wild Terra 2 gets a major update and new demo. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.
Anvil Empires
Anvil Empires’ next Pre-Alpha test will start on Monday, March 31st, and run for one week or until the win condition is satisfied, whichever comes first.
Broken Ranks
It’s almost time for Broken Ranks’ annual player convention: Taern Con 2025. The event will be held on July 6th this year. Look for the registration form coming soon.
When the next update goes live on April 9th, players will be able to turn a string of bad luck into a boon with the new Ragebar. Once charged, your rage can be unleashed as a 100% chance to hit attack, used to recover mana or stamina, or improve your chance to dodge attacks. Sounds way better than rage quitting.
Corepunk
Players will finally get a look at Prison Island when the next patch releases on April 4th. Along with the new island, a new weapon specialization: Defender. Additional content, including the new weapon talent system and T3 weapons will be released a week later.
Defiance
Check out the new teaser trailer for the Defiance release set for April 18th.
Elethor
v44A is set to release on Tuesday. The update includes several changes to the Spire as well as the new gold tax.
Embers Adrift
The March Update went live on Tuesday, March 25th. There wasn’t any new content added, but a slew of bug fixes and minor updates were included in the patch.
Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore
A new update was released on Monday, March 24th. The patch included improvements to the inventory window, leaderboards, a qucikbar update, and an extended render distance.
Foxhole
Update 60 went live on Thursday. You can check out all of the changes in I Saw A Bear’s update video below.
Fractured Online

Once Human
Version 1.4.4 went live on Wednesday, March 26th. The update includes the new cross-character sharing feature, which consolidates assets owned by all of the characters on your account. Along with a ton of other fixes and tweaks, the new Chrono Vault event is now live.
Palia
The Tinker and Timber update (patch 0.190) is now live. The update includes new Builder’s Set Decor, mystery outfit gifting, and other improvements and fixes.
Profane
Profane will have another playtest on April 3rd. Full patch notes will be coming out sometime before the test goes live.
Project Gorgon
A new update went live on Wednesday. Several combat skills have been revised along with changes to Vampirism, animal handling, Weather Witching, and much more.
Prosperous Universe

Realm of the Mad God
Celebrate April Fools with Update 5.9.1.0. The celebration will run from March 25th through April 8th, giving you plenty of time to farm the event.

Monday, March 31st is the last day of the Sugarsweet Summit event.
Wild Terra 2: New Lands
Major Update 2.3.382 went live this week. Two new skills have been introduced: crossbows and engineering. There are also some new pets, resources, and recipes. Along with the update, there is a new demo that lets you check out Wild Terra 2 for free until October 13th.
