On the birthday of the legendary departed MMORPG designer Brad “Aradune” McQuaid, Visionary Realms, where he worked before his passing, has paid tribute in both the Pantheon game itself and in a new post.
As he led the team at Visionary Realms, many members were able to work directly with him, and so the team has gathered up memories of him into a touching tribute blog. Those who shared these memories range from lifelong friends to staff members who fondly remembered his “Bradisms.”
All around, everyone says he was a kind-hearted, witty, and forward-thinking guy, and all the memories are worth a read if MMORPG history is dear to your heart.
To further cement his legacy, Pantheon has added an NPC named “Aradune,” his in-game handle, with his likeness. According to the latest patch notes, he can be found at a campfire outside Village of Availia, and near the lift in Wild’s End.
