Monsters and Memories Recaps Their Latest Playtest and Outlines 2026 Early Access Launch

Niche Worlds Cult’s oldschool-inspired game Monsters and Memories recently wrapped up their latest playtest spanning April 11-14, and the team has highlighted their progress in a long update article on the official site.

Now that their latest test in a series of tests is over, Niche Worlds Cult has stated that each test is helping them make significant progress towards Monsters and Memories planned 2026 Early Access launch. The latest playtest introduced the new Petition system, while the team successfully addressed player issues promptly with renewed effort on customer service.
The Monsters and Memories team has expanded significantly since January, adding designers and artists who’ve been enhancing game balance, quest creation, environmental artwork, and UI elements. Recent concept art features new character designs for fire giants, specters, and bears, alongside extensive environment improvements like Keepers Bight and Evershade Weald.
Gameplay refinements included animation updates for characters like the Myconid, Ratman, and Wood Elf, improved crafting mechanics, and significant combat and economy rebalancing. The team has also begun an ongoing closed test phase and continues extensive behind-the-scenes technical enhancements.
With steady momentum and robust community engagement, hopefully the team can get Monsters and Memories  in shape for their anticipated Early Access release next year.
