The Guild Wars 2 Push 5v5 PvP Mode Beta is Now Open

The beta test for Guild Wars 2’s in-development 5v5 PvP mode, Push, is now open through May 27th. ArenaNet has a new guide to the mode, changes from last fall’s beta test, and what feedback they’re looking for.

The mode is designed to be simple to get into. Two teams battle for control of a moving object and try to escort it into the enemy base. The first beta was last September, and the team was still feeling out whether or not this type of mode was something people would want to see. The response from the community was a positive one.
There is a new map this time, though it’s more of an updated map than a complete overhaul. There’s  a jade tech hovercart with a color display showing which team is currently in control. The center objective needed work after being panned, so mechanics drawn from the Skyhammer conquest map are part of the center objective (dodge or pay the price when channeling the center objective). This beta also features the first version of what will eventually be the official scoreboard UI.
ANet is looking to continue changing and refining Push to bake it into a complete mode ready for launch sometime down the road. If you played the first beta, they want feedback on the changes made since, but also want general feedback on the mode as a whole.
