For the economy enjoyers out there, Runescape has released a massive two part blog on the changes they made to the economy. Already, Runescape had promised back in April to tweak the economy of Runescape, along with those careful changes to ensure longevity.
These two giant blog posts detail, respectively, the “Game Health” and what they worry about, and then changes that’ll be made in response. The first post of the “Game Health Feedback Response” talks about what the heck Game Health is, which is basically a giant justification for trying to attack revamps of giant systems like, say, the economy.
Then, they talk about the dynamic between the Alchables and the GP, stating sometimes it brings in more GP than “we’re comfortable with.” They show a lot of cool graphics and tables about the inflation happening in Runescape, especially when too many of the Alchables and similar items flood the market, or when too many rare items drop. They also talk about how they want to maintain a healthy game progression, or when players avoid it.
To say the very least, the second blog really gets into all the changes that were recently made to Runescape’s loot drops, as well as some of the justifications. It’s hard to summarize here, so if you’re invested (perhaps literally), it’s worth a skim.
